Peer Bonus
During my previous internship with GovTech, I was involved in the revamp of the Peer Bonus programme, a peer-to-peer cash reward programme. Peer Bonus was introduced with the objective of empowering public officers to recognise their colleagues who have been collaborative and contributed to their success.

Background
Before diving into user survey, I delved deeper into the problem space. Initial desktop research revealed common problems associated with peer-to-peer cash reward programmes:
Exploiting the system for one's benefit
An external survey shows that there was a negative perception of peer-to-peer bonuses due to its likelihood of becoming a popularity contest.
Attaching one's self-worth to a monetary value.
Money diverts away from the objective of the programme which is to express appreciation for your peers.
Conflict between recognition and appreciation
Recognition: Giving positive feedback based on results or performance.
Appreciation: Acknowledging a person's inherent value.
Survey Findings & Analysis
Following this, I conducted an online survey with 537 public servants from GovTech. The objective of the survey was to gain a better understanding on:
User perceptions on existing Peer Bonus programme
Possible issues with Peer Bonus (i.e., participation rates)
User perceptions on cash and non-cash rewards
User perceptions on appreciation versus recognition
Potential improvements that can be made to Peer Bonus

Feature Roadmap
From the major frustrations that most interviewees expressed, my team and I outlined several major features that this MVP could have.
Ideation & Design
With the features prioritised, we crafted a user journey to show the different stages of the user flow in which the proposed features will alleviate as-is pain points.
